TrueConnect: How to Sell a Connected Product
When selling connected products through TrueConnect, there are multiple ways to place an order. The right method depends on how the reseller and supplier prefer to work together.
Reseller Contacts the Supplier
Resmark allows a supplier to place an order on behalf of a reseller. In this scenario, the reseller contacts the supplier (by phone, email, or however the two businesses normally communicate), and the supplier creates the order. This is common when suppliers work with travel agencies or other resellers, as it keeps reseller orders separate from internal agent orders and helps calculate commissions accurately.
To place an order on behalf of a reseller, the supplier should:
- Select Reseller Order at the top of Resmark.
- Search for the reseller business.
- Select the business, or click Invite to Sell if they are not yet connected.
- Select Start New Order next to the correct agent. If the agent is not listed, add them first. The agent is generally the person who contacted the supplier to place the order.
- Follow the standard order process and fill out the required information.
Reseller Places the Order in Resmark
If you are a reseller, connected products appear alongside your own products when placing an internal order. Select New Order at the top of Resmark and follow the same process you would for any of your own products.
Reseller Adds the Connected Product to Their Website
If you are a reseller using the Add to Cart widget or product links on your website, those work with connected products the same way they do with your own. If you are using the Resmark public product page (yourcompany.app.resmarksystems.com), connected products will automatically appear in your Things To Do section, allowing your customers to browse and place orders on their own.
