TrueConnect: Creating a Private Connection Template

Connection templates let product suppliers quickly apply their preferred connection settings when initiating a new connection. Templates control which products can be resold, their commission or net rate, and other connection details.

There are two types of connection templates:

• Public: Controls the default settings for any new connection, including when a reseller requests to sell your products.
• Private: Must be manually selected by the supplier when inviting a business to resell their products. If no private template is selected, the public template settings are used.

Creating a Private Template

Navigate to Connections > Connection Templates > New Template.

The following settings are available when creating a template:

• Template Name: A name to identify this template.
• Payment Option: Choose between Commission or Net Rate. This option is not available when editing your public connection template, which defaults to commission.
• Connection Mode: Choose whether products are automatically connected for new suppliers/resellers or must be added manually.
• Add Products To This Template: Select which products to make available for this template. If the checkbox to enable a product is missing, you do not have permission to resell that product (for example, you cannot add a product you resell if your earnings on it are commission-based).
• Price Category: Assign a custom price category to any product in the template.
• Customizable by Reseller: Gives the reseller permission to edit the product as if it were their own. Any changes the reseller makes will not affect your original copy of the product or the actual inventory available.
• Commission or Net Rate Amount: Set the flat amount or percentage for the commission or net rate on each product.

Using Your Private Template

Once you are satisfied with your settings, save the template. Changes to an existing template will not affect any businesses that were already connected using it. Templates only apply at the time of the initial connection. Any future changes must be made individually per connection.

To use your template, invite a business to resell your products or add a new reseller. When initiating the connection, you will have the option to select which template to apply.
