How to convert your WaiverSign signing URL to a QR Code

QR codes let your guests pull up your WaiverSign signing link from their own phones. Nearly all modern smartphones can scan QR codes directly from their built-in camera app. This makes QR codes a great alternative to setting up a dedicated kiosk.

Generating a QR Code

The simplest way to create a QR code is directly from your browser. No third-party accounts or tools are required.

  1. Open your WaiverSign signing link in Google Chrome (or another modern browser).
  2. Click the share icon in the address bar.
  3. Select Create QR Code.
  4. Download or copy the QR code image.

If your browser does not have a built-in QR code option, you can use a free third-party tool like QR Code Generator. Paste your signing link into their static URL field and download the image.

If using a third-party QR code tool, do not sign up for a paid account unless you want their premium features. Codes generated from paid accounts or free trials may expire when the subscription ends. Codes generated without an account do not expire.

Displaying Your QR Code

Once you have your QR code image, you need a way to share it with guests. Some common options:

  • Print it on a sign or flyer with a message like "Sign Our Waiver From Your Phone For Faster Check-In."
  • Display it on a TV or monitor at your guest services counter.
  • Include it on a welcome card or check-in packet.

As a fallback for guests unfamiliar with QR codes, consider adding a shortened URL below the code. Free URL shorteners like Bitly can turn a long WaiverSign link into something easy to type, like bit.ly/moabcheckin.

Tips

  • Test your QR code with your own phone before printing or displaying it.
  • Make sure the QR code is large enough to scan from a comfortable distance. A 2-inch square works well for handheld materials, but a larger display needs a larger code.
  • If you update your signing link, you will need to generate a new QR code.
