How do I set up my product inventory: Template Automation Status

This article explains how inventory generates based on your template settings. You can find these options in the Inventory section of your products.

Custom inventory settings are saved as Templates for fast and easy generation of additional inventory. There are three automation options available for your templates.

1. Manual -- This setting is enabled by default if you selected Variable Dates while configuring your inventory date settings. A manual template is useful for quickly generating new inventory using settings you have used before. Each time you need more inventory, open the template and click Generate Inventory at the bottom of the page.

2. Running -- This setting is enabled by default after generating inventory if you selected Regular Recurring Dates while configuring your inventory date settings. A running template will generate additional inventory every day, up to the maximum advance purchase day.

3. Paused -- If you save a Regular Recurring Date template without generating inventory, it will be paused by default. You can also manually pause a running template to stop inventory from generating automatically.

Changes can be made to your templates at any time. Any changes will only affect future generated inventory. Changes will not overwrite existing inventory that has already been generated.
