# How to Connect a Nexio Terminal via Ethernet Using a WiFi Repeater

To improve the stability of the connection on Nexio Terminals, you can connect the terminal via Ethernet using a WiFi repeater. This provides a more reliable connection compared to the terminal's built-in WiFi, and is a great option for clients who use WiFi hotspots or don't have a nearby Ethernet connection.

These instructions are based on this specific WiFi repeater: [GL.iNet GL-SFT1200 (Opal)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09N72FMH5)

1. Plug the adapter into a USB-C power source (either the one included in the box or one near your Nexio Terminal).

2. From a computer, open your WiFi settings and find a network called **GL-SFT1200**. There will be two networks with this name. Choose the one that does **not** end in "5G."

The default password for this network is: **goodlife**

3. Once connected to that WiFi network, open your web browser and go to **http://192.168.8.1**. This will take you to the setup page for the WiFi adapter. The page will ask you to create a new password for the router.

4. After creating your password, the page will take you to the network setup screen. Select the **Repeater** option, then click **Scan**.

5. A list of available networks will appear. Find the hotspot you want to connect to.

6. Enter the WiFi password and select **Join**.

7. Once connected to the hotspot, your screen should look similar to this:

8. Plug your terminal into the router via Ethernet using either of the **LAN** ports. Do not use the WAN port.

9. Once plugged in, the WiFi repeater admin page should now show a LAN client.

Your terminal should now be connected via Ethernet for a much more reliable connection. You can plug up to two terminals into the back of this device. If you need additional ports, an [unmanaged Ethernet switch like this one](https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Splitter-Optimization-Unmanaged-TL-SG105/dp/B00A128S24/) would work well. Simply plug the switch into one of the LAN ports on the WiFi repeater to gain additional Ethernet ports.

|| If your computer reconnects to your main WiFi network during setup, it will interrupt the process. If this happens, reconnect to the GL-SFT1200 network (step 2) and refresh the page in your browser. You should be able to resume where you left off.
