Ethernet Setup using WiFi Repeater for Nexio Terminals

To enhance the stability of the connection on Nexio Terminals, you can connect the terminal via Ethernet using a WiFi repeater. This method provides a more reliable connection compared to the terminal's built-in WiFi. This is a great option for clients who use WiFi Hotspots, or who don’t have a nearby ethernet connection.

These instructions are based on this specific WiFi Repeater: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09N72FMH5

Plug the adapter into a USB C power source (either the included one in the box, or one near your Nexio Terminal).

From a computer, open up your WiFi settings and find a network called GL-SFT1200 (there will be two of them, choose the one that doesn't end in 5G')

The default password to this network will be: goodlife
Once connected to that WiFi network, open your web browser and navigate to this URL: http://192.168.8.1 it should take you to the setup page for the WiFi adapter. This page will ask you to create a new password for the router, I made my password: resmark

(the page will look similar to the screenshot above)

After you create your password, the page will take you to the network setup page. We want to use the "Repeater" option, select the word 'Scan'

A list of available networks will pop up, find the hotspot that you'd like to connect to:

Enter the WiFi password, and select "Join"

Once connected to the hotspot, your screen should look something like this:

Plug your terminal in via Ethernet using either of the LAN ports on the router (do not use the WAN port)

Once plugged in, your WiFi repeater page should now show a LAN client

That's it! Your terminal should now be plugged in via Ethernet for a much more reliable connection. You can plug up to 2 terminals into the back of this device. However, if you ever need to plug more terminals in then an Unmanaged Ethernet Switch like this would be required: https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Splitter-Optimization-Unmanaged-TL-SG105/dp/B00A128S24/ref=sr_1_3 you would simply plug this switch into one of the LAN ports on the WiFi repeater, and it will give you the benefit of additional Ethernet ports.

Sometimes while doing this setup, your computer may try to automatically reconnect back to your main WiFi network, which will interrupt the setup process. If this occurs, reconnect to the device (step 2), and refresh the page in your web browser and it should let you resume where you left off.
